Following a decision by the Cabinet of Ministers in October 2020, the Cyprus Citizenship by Investment Programme has been terminated as of 1 November 2020. Outstanding applications are currently being evaluated. Should there by any updates, we will inform our readers on this page.

The information listed below is for reference only. 

​

Primary Residence

In each investment pathway below, the investor must purchase a primary residence in Cyprus of at least € 500,000 value, which must be held in perpetuity.

 

Government Donations

In each case, the investor must make a donation to government agencies as follows:

 

  • € 75,000 to the Research and Innovation Fund

  • € 75,000 to the Cyprus Land Development Foundation

 

Four Cyprus Investment Pathways

The investor applicant must select one of the following Cyprus investment options:

 

Real Estate, Development and Infrastructure Investments

The investor must invest at least € 2,000,000 in property, development or infrastructure projects in Cyprus. Of this, at least € 500,000 must be in a primary residence. The holding period of the non-permanent residence component is at least 5 years.

2. Investment in Cypriot Companies

The investor must invest at least € 2,000,000 in a Cypriot company. This company must employ at least 5 people, and must have significant presence and operations in Cyprus. Shipping companies qualify for this investment.

 

Any such investment must be used for the purpose of investing in Cyprus. (Please note that the investor must purchase  primary residence of minimum value of € 500,000 in addition to the € 2,000,000 investment mentioned.)

 

3. Investment in Alternative Investment Funds or equivalent Assets

The investor must invest at least € 2,000,000 in a CySEC-licensed Alternative Investment Fund, or in the financial assets of Cy-SEC licensed Cypriot companies, such as bonds, shares, etc.

 

The minimum holding period is 5 years. (Please note that the investor must purchase  primary residence of minimum value of € 500,000 in addition to the € 2,000,000 investment mentioned.)

 

4. Combination of the Above

Combinations of the above are possible, providing that (a) the total investment is € 2,000,000; (b) the investor has a primary residence worth at least € 500,000; and (c) the € 150,000 donation is made.
