Wizz Air opens New Base at Larnaca Airport

Wizz Air has announced the opening of a new base at Larnaca, Cyprus. The airline will base two Airbus A320 aircraft at Larnaca, which will serve 11 new destinations to seven countries starting in July 2020.

The 11 new routes served from Larnaca are

  • Greece: Athens and Thessaloniki

  • Denmark: Billund and Copenhagen

  • Germany: Dortmund, Memmingen, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden

  • Austria: Salzburg

  • Romania: Suceava

  • Finland: Turku

  • Poland: Wroclaw


Wizz Air has been operating flights to Cyprus since December 2010, carrying more than 800,000 passengers.


The Larnaca Base is a part of Wizz Air’s expansion plan to increase its operations in Cyprus by 60%. It is estimated that Wizz Air will employ over 100 people in Cyprus.
